The learn-to-play hockey program is geared towards the beginning player with an emphasis on skill development. Players are divided into groups and instructed by experienced, USA Hockey certified coaches. Children who participate in the program are given priority registration status for PHA Hockey teams the following fall, if age eligible
Learn to Play Instructional Program
Program intended for players 4-9 years of age (born 2009-2014).
This is a Learn to Play (intro to hockey) program.
*USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for the 2018-2019 playing season. USA Hockey is the governing body of youth hockey. Registration is free to children 6 & Under. There is a $45 fee for children 7 & Older that is in addition to the program fee. Register at www.USAHockeyRegistration.com by the first skate and forward the confirmation email to email@example.com.
FULL EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED and includes athletic supporter with cup (boys) or pelvis protector (girls), shin guards, hockey socks, hockey pants, elbow pads, shoulder pads, jersey, unexpired hockey helmet with full face guard, neck guard, gloves, skates and ice hockey stick. A limited number of gear sets are available to borrow from the Recreation Department for use during the session and can be reserved on-line when registering. There is a $50 deposit required to use gear. The fee is refunded when the gear is returned in good condition.
Walk-In Registration will be taken at the City of Plymouth Recreation Department located in the Plymouth Cultural Center, 525 Farmer, Plymouth, MI 48170.
